Whole Wheat Bread - Jae

Dissolve:
2 pkgs. yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
Let the yeast get active and bubble up.

Add:
2 cups warm water
2 cups white flour
Let stand for 20 minutes or until bubbles form.

Add:
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 tsp. baking soda
3 Tbsp. oil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup sugar or 1/3 cup honey

Beat well and gradually add:
2 cups white flour
3-4 cups whole wheat flour

Knead well. Place dough in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise until dough has doubled. Punch down dough and shape into loaves. Place in greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise again.

Bake at 375 degrees F for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from oven and brush some butter on the top to keep soft.
