Turkey Stuffing - Aunt Cindra

3 tablespoons onions, chopped
1 ½ cup celery, chopped
¼ cup butter, melted
4 cups dry bread (about 7 slices)
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
½ teaspoon sage
1 whole egg, slightly beaten
Boiling stock or water

Sauté onions and celery in butter.  In a separate bowl combine bread and seasonings.  Mix in onions and celery.  Toss with egg and a tiny amount of liquid to moisten.  A turkey has a lot of liquid, so you really don’t need to add liquid unless you are cooking in a pan.

If you are putting this in a turkey, do not over pack.  This makes more than enough to stuff a large turkey. If you are baking in a pan, bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.
