Lemon Basil Pasta - Aunt Jae

1/2 lb. (8 oz.) linguine or other favorite pasta
2 tbsp. margarine, melted
I tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 tsp. basil leaves
3/4 tsp.  garlic salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
2 cups chicken (optional)

Cook pasta according to package directions, omitting salt in cooking water.
Drain and return pasta to pan.

In a small bowl, combine margarine, lemon juice, basil, garlic, and pepper. Toss with cooked pasta. Sprinkle cheese over pasta and serve immediately.

Main dish variation: Toss in 2 cups cooked, cubed chicken before sprinkling with
cheese.
