Tostadas - Grandma Ellen

Have ready:
2 cups well seasoned, cooked pinto beans, mashed and fried lightly.
1 dozen tortillas
1 large chopped onion
2 lbs. cooked and seasoned ground beef
1 lb. shredded cheese
1 medium head chopped lettuce
1 large tomato chopped fine

Fry tortillas slightly or warmed in microwave. Lay tortilla flat on individual serving dish.
Spread in layers : Fried pinto beans, ground beef, shredded cheese, chopped onion,
lettuce and tomato. These may be made double decker by adding another tortilla and
following the same procedure. Serve with hot sauce or ketchup and with sour cream if
desired.

Hot Sauce:
I small can tomato paste
1 Tbs. chili tepenies, cut fine
1 small onion
Bring this to a boil. This is very hot.
Serves 6.
