Cherry Kool-Aid Punch - Grandma Ellen

46 ounces. pineapple juice
46 ounces orange juice
5 packages cherry Kool-Aid
5 packages orange Kool-Aid
4 quarts water
7 cups sugar
2 quarts water, boiling
Lemon-lime or ginger ale

Mix the juices and Kool-Aid with 4 quarts water.
Dissolve sugar in 2 quarts boiling water and cool.  Taste for sweetness.
Combine the two mixtures.  Freeze in a flat pan overnight.
Remove from freezer 45 minutes before serving.
Crush with a potato masher.  Place in a large punch bowl
Pour lemon-lime soda or ginger ale over it to desired taste.
