1 1/2 cup almonds, blanched
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
5 tablespoons water
milk chocolate, melted
Brown almonds lightly in oven. Put 1/2 through food chopper. Split remainder into halves. Melt butter. Add sugar, salt, and water. Stir constantly. Add split almonds and pour into oiled pan 8x8x1/2. Spread chocolate on top. Sprinkle generously with chopped nuts. Cool. Turn upside down on waxed paper. Spread bottom with chocolate and sprinkle with nuts. When chocolate is cool break into pieces.
