A tradition to eat on
Eve’s birthday when she was a young girl.
6 large baking apples ((McIntosh,
Jonathon or another tart apple)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
Mix the brown sugar,
water, butter, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Bring to a boil.
Cut apples in half. Spoon out seeds and the stem. Place skin side down into pan. Pour sugar mixture over apples.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1
hour.
Serve with cream.
