Sweet and Sour Meatballs - Aunt Eve

2 pounds ground beef
¾ cup bread crumbs
1 egg
3 tablespoons onions
¾ cup milk
1 teaspoon salt
Pepper to taste
Beef consume’ or bouillon

Saute onions in butter until tender.  Mix and form balls.  Roll in flour and brown.  Simmer for 30 minutes in beef consume’ or 1 bouillon cube and ½ cup water.

Sauce:
1 tablespoon oil
1 cup pineapple juice
1 tablespoon soy sauce

Bring to a boil
Add:
3 T. cornstarch mixed with 6 tablespoons water and thicken.
1 tablespoon soy sauce
3 tablespoon vinegar
½ cup sugar

Add:
Celery, pineapple, large onions, green pepper; carrots. 


Cut up vegetables and cook in salted water, green pepper last.  Drain, add to meatballs, and then pour over top.  Serve over rice.
